Different projects, different rules
Solar and battery incentives are not one universal rebate. Small-scale installations may qualify for certificate-based support, while larger projects follow different arrangements.
We identify the relevant pathway for the proposed scope. Current government guidance and scheme rules take precedence over earlier marketing material.
What to check before approving work
Treat incentives as part of a properly scoped project. A quote should identify the support assumed and the obligations that come with it.
- System size and approved equipment
- Installation and accreditation requirements
- Site ownership and who can claim the benefit
- Installation deadlines and certification dates
- Any interaction with existing systems or earlier incentives
Keep the business case clear
Review the installed cost before and after any eligible discount. Include network requirements, enabling electrical work and ongoing costs in your assessment.
Finance approval and tax treatment are separate questions for your lender and accountant. A project should be understood on its own merits, even when support is available.
